Sex Affair 2007: Come to Learn, Learn to Come!!

UCSB Sex and Relationship Peer Health Interns’s Sex Affair is back and better than ever this year in a two day event that will satisfy all your safer sex and relationship needs.

Regardless of your orientation, relationship status, values, or sexual activity - this event will have something for you!!

This year the interns will be handing out over 2,000 condoms (with all 7 steps to putting them on correctly), over 3,000 containers of lube, hundreds of dental dams, and thousands of sexual health flyers all for FREE!!

Our ever popular Penis and Vagina-costumed people will be dancing around and excited to take a picture with you!

In addition, our infamous Tunnel of Love will provide interactive birth control and sex toys tables as well as an opportunity for you to view all of our favorite passives and local artwork relating to the themes of Sex Affair.

Experts from student health will be joining the interns to help answer all your questions and direct you to relevant resources.

Movie Screening: Education of Shelby Knox

This movie tells the story of Shelby Knox, a student who fought her high school’s abstinence-only program in favor of a queer-positive, sex-positive, compreshensive sex education program.

The movie is FREE and there are FREE shirts as well. Stop by the VOX table at A Sex Affair on Wednesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 24 for more information, or check out our facebook event.

VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood and a coaltion of other groups including the Sex and Relationship interns, QSU, Campus Democrats, FUQIT, Lamda Theta Alpha, and Sex Info UCSB are proud to present a screening of The Education of Shelby Knox on Thursday, May 24 at 8PM in IV Theater 2.

IT AFFECTS ME RALLY

– Various student groups, such as STAR and Mujer, will be tabling at our rally!
– Performances by WETT, Local Motion, and Naked Voices!
– Keynote Speaker: Professor Grace Chang

The rally is a peaceful gathering at the Building 434 lawn (the old Women’s Center lawn) of students, faculty, and staff. Interactive games and art installations, along with tabling of various student groups, enhance the performances and the speaker. Come by at any time and check out our educational materials and information! Everyone is welcome!

ISHLE YI PARK, performing LUMINOUS: A NIGHT OF SPOKEN WORD AND ACOUSTIC SOUL

– Ishle Yi Park, noted speaker, poet, artist, and poet, will be performing her multimedia one-woman show entitled “Luminous: A Night of Spoken Word and Acoustic Soul.” The event is free. Everyone is welcome!

It Affects Me: Week of Events

This week-long event is also hosted along with a variety of other student groups on campus, as well as coincides with other awareness and educational campaigns held during the month of April. Movies, discussions, performances, and more are held during this time to increase sexual assault awareness. The week culminates with our It Affects Me rally. Information, resources, and tools about rape and sexual assault are available all week.

PROTECT CHOICE: ROE V WADE ANNIVERSARY Saturday, January 20 • 12 noon Rally / Anisq’Oyo Park There will be music and poets as well as motivational speakers who will address important subjects such as Comprehensive Sexual Health Education and Reproductive Rights. A variety of Campus groups will be at the event to show their support for women as well as provide information on their own groups. VOX will also be providing important information about the Global Gag Rule, Sex Education in Schools, and personal stories from women. This event is a celebration of women and their right choose.
