Tune into 91.9 KCSB on Sunday, Jan 28 (5-6pm), for a discussion about “Changing the Public’s Perception of Rape” with Kari, Debbie, Carl, and Katie! Between songs they will discuss rape culture, myths about sexual assault, how men are affected, and sexual violence in our community.

On Monday, Peggy is co-hosting a discussion entitled, “Why Boys Stare, Why Girls Care” in the Anacapa Formal Lounge at 8pm. This will be a constructive and critical discussion about today’s stereotypical and modern approach to gender, and how it relates to sexual assault in our community. Free pizza will be served.

According to reports released by the Department of Defense, within the last calendar year, there were 2,374 reported cases of sexual assault. This includes about 400-plus cases in which the victim was a civilian and the alleged offender was a military personnel.
