We will be meeting 5-7PM in the Women’s Center Conference Room on Wednesday.

This week we’ll be trying to finalize plans for April’s It Affects Me campaign and we’ll have a guest speaker, Alena Donovan, from Just Communities to talk about how our work is social justice work!

Students Stopping Rape is proud to announce a week of educational programs about abusive relationships. The “We Deserve Better” campaign will last from Tuesday, February 10 to Thursday, February 12 at the UCSB Campus. The Following is a list of events:

Tuesday, February 10: “You Love Me, You Love Me Not,” a program about the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships, will take place at 8 pm in the Santa Rosa Residence Hall Formal Lounge.

Wednesday, February 11: “Relationships and the Media,” a program about the portrayal of abusive relationship in film and television, will take place at 5 pm in the Student Resource Building Multi-Purpose Room.

Thursday, February 12: “What Does Courage Look Like,” a program about helping a friend who is in an abusive relationship, will take place at 7 pm in the San Miguel Residence Hall Formal Lounge.

Additionally, Students Stopping Rape will be tabling on Tuesday, February 10, on the lawn in front of Building 434, and Thursday, February 12, at the Arbor to provide educational materials on abusive relationships.

Events are co-sponsored by the UCSB Alcohol and Drug Program, Black Pioneers Renaissance Organization, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Queer Student Union, Sex and Relationship Peers, and the Women’s Center.
