At SSR, we find that some of the most effective ways to inform people about sexual assault in our community are through campaigns, events, programs, discussions and passives.

Campaigns & Events
In these campaigns, we communicate our messages visually, through t-shirts and art installations, speaking to individuals and groups, presenting workshops, passing out flyers and handouts, and more. The bigger projects, like It Affects Me, which take place over the course of a week, require weeks of planning in committees and coalitions. Others, like Language Matters, are smaller and focused on passive means, such as lawn signs and Daily Nexus ads, to communicate its message.
Programs, Discussions & Workshops
We are also a resource for Resident Halls, Fraternities, Sororities, and various organizations on campus for programs and discussions.
- Gender Discussion
- Street Harassment
- Guess the Rapist!
- Self Defense
- Sexual Assault and Pop Culture Trivia Game
Passives
We also have a collection of passives for posting in dorms and around campus. Organizations and resident assistants can check them out at the Women’s Center front desk.
- 5 Steps to Understanding Rape Culture (2-part passive)
